2009年12月09日Vehicle Occupant Sensing Systems於德州東區聯邦法院遞狀控告全球2家汽車大廠：美國本田汽車(American Honda Motor Co., Inc.)及通用汽車公司(General Motors Company)，涉嫌專利侵權。
原告Vehicle Occupant Sensing Systems宣稱被告侵犯了3件專利(US6,292,727、US6,968,263、US6,584,387)，有關於車輛乘員座位位置之傳感技術(Vehicle Occupant Presence and Position Sensing System)，因被告將該技術結合於前座位置的安全氣曩之系統內，而向被告提出禁制令及損害賠償。
